B-W Greenway Community Land Trust invites you to their 23rd Community Chautauqua, moderated by Mark Willis, Executive Director of Hall Hunger Initiative. The panel includes experts from Access to Excess, Clark County Solid Waste District, Fairborn Environmental Advisory Board, The Foodbank, Rumpke, and Waste-Free Dayton.

Discussion topics include:

  • The current state of recycling in the U.S. – successes and challenges

  • Recycling in multi-family residences like apartments

  • Strategies for communities to boost recycling participation

  • How the recycling industry responds to market fluctuations

  • Common recycling misconceptions (like “recyclables just get thrown away”)

  • Best recycling policies and legislation, including bottle bills and producer responsibility

  • Reducing food waste at home, businesses, and institutions

  • Resources for “hard-to-recycle” items: tires, electronics, batteries, household hazardous waste, durable plastics, and more

The evening will conclude with refreshments and an opportunity to networkwith panelists, the moderator, and B-W Greenway members.
